I used to wake up bracing for the day ahead, like something bad was about to happen. I’d sit in meetings smiling while my chest felt like it was caving in. I'd lie in bed at night replaying conversations, ruminating on what I’d done wrong.

My hypervigilance, people pleasing and spiralling thoughts were not the problem. The problem was I had unmet needs.

What if your stress response had your best interests in mind—not to sabotage you, but to signal something: a non-negotiable basic need?

What need would that be?

At the core of every stress response is usually one of these three umbrella needs:

To feel safe. To feel loved. To feel enough.

But the more specific you can get with naming the unmet need, the more prescriptive and powerful your response can be in meeting it.

Hi, I'm Epiphany

Honestly, my needs used to baffle me.

I always pushed myself past my limits, and after working 17-hour days as a documentary director, I burnt out.

By implementing a care model focused on identifying and getting my needs met, everything shifted. I went from experiencing relentless anxiety, depression, fatigue, and chronic pain to regulating my nervous system.

Now, of course life ebbs and flows, but for the most part, I feel well, strong, and joyful. No more depression, no more anxiety, and no more chronic pain - my whole life has changed for the better.
